A book review

For those of you who may not know I am a member of the BookSneeze Book Club.
This is a place for bloggers to download & review books from Thomas Nelson publishing.
If you noticed in the last few posts I have reviewed some books. Unfortunately it took me a very long time to review the books because they were not fun easy reads for me. The books I reviewed required me to think some. I have found when I have to think after work hours I tend to procrastinate unless it is a self help book.
So when I saw I could review this book Smitten & it was a simple easy girly novel that I could read before going to bed at night I jumped on the chance to review the book & in less than a week here is my review.
The reason I chose this book is because I am a fan of Kristin Billerbeck who is a Christian chick lit author which basically means she does not write about sex all the time & tells good old girly love stories.
Smitten is written by authors Colleen Coble, Kristin Billerbeck, Diann Hunt, & Denise Hunter. Set in Smitten, Vermont four friends devise a plan to bring life back into the town they love after the local mill closes & threatens to shut down the city with the lack of jobs.
The story centers around Natalie, Julia, Shelby & Reece; four life long friends whose lives are ready for settling down & finding husbands. Natalie is the local coffee shop owner who can sometimes gossip too much & helps raise her delinquent sister’s child Mia. Julia is the girl who just moved back from the Big City of New York who is looking to open a Spa in Smitten. Shelby is the prim & proper girl who lives in fairy tale land. Reece is the sporty outgoing girl who loves all outdoor activities. Funny thing, as in most love stories, the partners they are presented with are not the men they would have chosen. Each characters story is written by a different author yet the flow is simple, clean & complete. The authors did a great job of seamlessly tying each story together to make one good series on a small town in Vermont.
I would give this book a 4 out of 5 stars for the simple love stories that are presented for each character. Even though you pretty much can tell who each woman is going to end up with I never got to a point where I was bored of the plot line or didn’t want to read anymore because the book was too slow.
Authors thanks for sharing. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good read with no scariness before bed.
